Our grants applications are based on eligibility and approval of an LOI, range up to $50,000 and are distributed twice annually (in July and January). Applications are initially reviewed by the grants committee and approved by the full Board. Only one proposal may be considered by an applicant annually, and an evaluation of the project funded, including a financial report, must be submitted at the end of the project period. To begin the process, please complete the Eligibility Evaluation below:
Step 1: Eligibility Evaluation
All organizations seeking grants from The International Foundation must first complete a brief, online evaluation to help us assess application eligibility. If your organization meets all the requirements, we will invite you to submit a Letter of Inquiry.
Step 2: Letter of Inquiry (LOI)
Following satisfactory completion of the eligibility quiz, grant seekers will automatically be directed to an online LOI form through which they share more information about their organizations and the proposed projects. Grant seekers must also document the measurable positive impact they anticipate this requested funding will help them achieve and specifically how they plan to use resources.
All letters of inquiry proceed through a screening process to determine whether or not the request and mission of the organization align with the current funding priorities of our Foundation. In most instances, applicants will receive a written response promptly if they do not qualify. Those who may qualify will be notified within 30 days and invited to submit a full grant proposal for further consideration.
Step 3: Full Proposal
Organizations invited to formally apply for a grant from The International Foundation must complete a full grant proposal and supply additional financial and project planning documentation. This proposal, similar to the LOI, will be submitted through our online portal.
Step 4: Application Review
All proposals are carefully reviewed by our Grants Committee and require approval from the full Board of Directors. Grants are awarded semi-annually so grantees should expect a decision no later than 6 months after submitting their complete Letter of Inquiry. We only fund one proposal from an organization during each calendar year, and before another grant proposal can be funded, we must receive a satisfactory end-of-project report.
